Dr. D. Vaithiyanathan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, has been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Institute by the Director. In this capacity, the CVO serves as a key support to the Institute’s senior administration in all matters related to vigilance, ethics, and transparency. He functions as an important liaison between the Institute and the Central Vigilance Commission, ensuring that vigilance policies and guidelines are effectively implemented within the organization. The responsibilities of the CVO are broad and encompass the collection of information related to corrupt or unethical practices, conducting or facilitating investigations into reported complaints, and carefully examining investigation findings for submission to the appropriate disciplinary authorities. In addition, the CVO seeks guidance from the Commission whenever required and plays a proactive role in developing preventive measures to discourage misconduct. Through awareness initiatives, monitoring mechanisms, and timely corrective actions, the CVO contributes significantly to fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and good governance within the Institute.
